2022 Major Accomplishments
In spite of our library being closed for half the year, our small band of library lovers accomplished a lot:

Changed SV Friends leadership roles: added the position of Vice President in order to share the leadership tasks from one to two people

Influenced plans on the exterior remodel of the Library

Renovated the library back patio garden, which had been neglected for two years
-
Hung our first art show in the renovated Library
-
Contributed to the Opening Day brochure for the SV opening
-
Developed a new Friends of the SV Library logo
-
Purchased updated name tags with our new logo
-
Created a new website for the Friends of the SV Library

Planned and ran the Friends Cafe on the reopening day of the Library: 689 people came
-
Convinced the Library staff to allow us to once again be able to receive book donations
-
Supported SCPL summer reading program

Purchased a Yakety Yak mobile librarian’s desk for the Library
-
Met with the Felton Friends in late August to share ideas
-
Started participating with the Aptos Friends in their Our Community Reads program
-
Restarted promoting the Giving Tree as a way for patrons to support our Library
-
Held a very successful book sale in our renovated library
-
Sponsored Ruth Dailey’s successful craft program for patrons
-
Provided a smooth transition to next year’s president and vice president
-
Continued sponsoring two virtual programs: Genre Book Club and Writer’s Open Mic
